Members A*X*7
I sold my 4 string to go "5" and found a nice Gold Ibanez made in Japan (not Korea) I wanted a nutral color to not be stuck with and when I saw the Gold it hit me hard!http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=200194734019&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI But then I fell in love with the Gary Willis Fretless and had to have it for that MMWAHH sound!!!! This should be a good neutral partner to the Gold:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=180210089523&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI Did I do Good?? Members postludium
is there really a big difference between the GWF thats like $800 and the one thats like $2500?
Members LanEvo
The older ones had genuine ebony fingerboards (not phenolic), custom Bartolini pickup/electronics, and were totally hand-fitted and set-up by real luthiers. I've never played the newer, mass-produced ones. But the older 5-string I played really blew me away. As much as I loved the original GWB, they're just too close in price to a used Pedulla Buzz (my dream bass) for me to seriously consider dropping that kind of money. Members dDigitalPimp
what is that big block plastic looking thing between the neck and the pup on that fretless?
Members dDigitalPimp
so does anyone want to tell me what this plastic looking thing is for? is it there to make the strings "twack" off of it, giving that double bass sound or what? Members Death Hands
It's a ramp/thumbrest. Keeps you from grabbing too much string, thereby increasing speed and keeping attack consistentisher.
Members A*X*7
Yeah... this ramp keeps your fingers on track so you dont over bite!I am looking to increase speed and accuracy. The seller told me it is removable but I think I will try it for a while to get better finger dexterity and someday when I'm good enough I can take it off!
