  1. I'm surprised people don't talk more about the fretless work Bakithi Khumalo did on Paul Simon's "Graceland." I still remember every note he played on: The Boy in the Bubble Graceland Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes You Can Call Me Al Under African Skies Great stuff Liar - Rollins BandRollins always has great bass players. Melvin Gibbs is great. But my favorite is still Andrew Weiss. Listen to pretty much anything off 1992's "The End of Silence." Amazing playing and tone.

If you're worried, just take a couple of large (empty!) cardboard boxes with you when you go car shopping. You can fold them up and stick them in the trunk. That way, you can get some idea of how your rig will fit. Emre
