We were booked at a country bar this past Fri & Sat. The manager (a lady in her late 40s I would guess) booked us never hearing us but some of her staff saw the band last summer and recommended us.

She started in on the band as soon as we started arriving.

"Don't park out front".

"Don't go out front to smoke".

After the PA was set up, she didn't like where we had placed the bins.

She then mentioned that where we had the sound board was no good as that was a "reserved table" every Saturday night. We would have to move it for Saturday.

"Don't leave anything near the DJ booth"

After sound check, she walked by and said the vocals sounded "muddy" at the bar.

Now, we usually play three 1 hour sets starting at 10:00pm. At about 9:15pm, she pointed out a sign on a sheet of paper near the stage spelling out exactly how long each of the 4 sets had to be and when they started and ended. We had to be on at 9:30 and 1 of the guitarists had already left to go to a store. Why she didn't tell us a few hours earlier is beyond us. We got on stage at 9:50, chopped the sets up into 4, took shorter breaks, and got onto her schedule.

She didn't say much after our first night.

On Saturday night, we had hired a videographer to film us so we can put together a promo package. She didn't like where one of his camers were set up of course.

We started exactly when we were supposed to. By the second set, the dancefloor was full, the bar was at capacity and there was a line to get in. Staff and long time patrons could not remember the last time there was a line-up to get in to this bar. The bar actually ran out of glasses!

At the end of the night, she paid us an extra $100, told the band not to worry about the bar tab and said she couldn't wait to have us back in April!!
