Underwood vs. Realist.

If I was in the market for a new upright pickup, I'd get a Realist, hands down. The sound between the two is night and day; the Realist is nice and woody, very true to the bass. The Underwood seems a little muffled, and a tad "electric" sounding. If I recall, Ron Carter used an Underwood for many years.

My teacher has the Underwood on his bass, and it sounds great.

I suggest the Shadow:

The only one I can say for sure that you should stay away from is Fishman. I have a BP100 on my bass and it sounds decent, but I have a nice real wood bass and that isn't the case for everyone.
