Members dedpool1052
FWIW, USA Lakland and USA Sadowsky bass parts are made by outside contractors and are also sent out to be finished as well. i didn't know that. i was just restating what Mike told me and thought that maybe thats why they feel like "parts" basses to WSO
Members willsellout
Yeah I don't know. Every Sadowsky I have picked up was exceptional. Every Lakland I've picked up was incredible. Every Lull I've picked up has been kind of meh. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing great about them either. Maybe it's the necks? Both Sadowsky and Lakland have really really comfortable necks whereas the Lull was kind of middle of the road. I also like that the Lakland and Sad's were all very light, whereas the Lull's were a bit heavier.
Members dedpool1052
I've met Nino in real life, and played a number of his instruments. He's a cool guy who builds really good basses. how are his 5'ers? have you played both a 34" and 35" of his and which one was preferred over the other? Members 82Daion
I can't say that I have, but I'm sure that someone on Talkbass has.
Members sludgebass69
Who is the maker of L-1329's twp custom basses? They are very nice (the fretted one I've actually held and played) and I thought it was fairly reasonable for what you got.
Members 82Daion
LeCompte. They don't really do a Fender-style bass, last I checked.
Members bassman1956
LeCompte's may be in line with both your budget and preferences. And yes, he makes lefties.
Members Renfield
+1 I've heard some good things about Valenti. Last I checked he hanged around bassnutz.com. Nino gets two solid from me.

Members 82Daion
Check again: http://www.lecomptebass.com/rev/ OK, sort of. Bud's prices are quite fair, but I suppose it comes down to the OP's taste as to whether he wants something that's more in line with the classics, or more of an update.
