Members Thumper
Awesome! I don't have the intestinal fortitude to take on something like that. I do have a Ted Weber Blue Dog Alnico driver in my Vox AC15 reissue. It sounds very nice indeed. Sadly, Ted is no longer with us... RIP, and thanks for everything. Members bassman1956
Love that head stone! Now, for the amp, for those of us that need a link,https://taweber.powweb.com/store/kits_weber.htm#ab200 That just looks badd-assedd!

Members knuckle_head
Several - I can't afford them either. I am trying to flesh out a studio front side to clean tube power - I need to hear everything my basses do and DON'T do.
Members bassman1956
The 2 things that really capture me are the midrange frequency selector, and the easy check-n-set power tube biases. The thing must weigh a metric ton!
Members knuckle_head
The builder suggests it's awfully heavy - I intend to be quite sedentary if I come by something this big. My biggest reservation with tubes is resolved with the biasing/metering functions. I weight this right up there with the Mac MC275 I've been coveting. Moderators Kindness Posted November 8, 2009 Moderators Share Posted November 8, 2009 I wish I were capable/had the resources to build. Start with a smaller build first and move up to this one. If you are patient and careful, it is well within reach.

Members knuckle_head
exactly what I'm building myself soon I been eyeballin' your project. I want to be able to at least side step a tone stack and pre section. Ideally I wouldn't BUILD a pre section. Hence my want and desire for the MC275. Ideally I wouldn't BUILD a pre section. Hence my want and desire for the MC275. Makes sense. I'm gonna build a preamp only version of my design if it works out as I plan... the initial build will be a 100 watter, but I'm planning a 60 and 200 watt version as well. There are a few DIY tube poweramps out in the wilds of the interwebz... that might be a route for you. Keep in mind my first build is gonna end up costing as much as any high end tube heads out there. I'm taking my time and cutting no corners
