Members perrydabassman
I am up to 24 basses, 10 guitars, 4 bass rigs, 3 guitar amps and am now completing my PA for medium size venues. My gas could solve the fuel crisis for Texas, New Mexico, and most of Arizona. Long time no see!! Welcome back to the fold..... I have 8 basses, some get played, some don't. I have a decent PA system for medium venues, I also have one for two or three piece acoustic type sets (never used). The only thing I don't GAS for is a rig. I have a GB Shuttle 6.0 with 2 GB NEO212XT's. I am perfectly satisfied with my rig. I think I am still looking for the perfect 5'er for me, although I am pretty happy with my Tobias. Members fealach
I ate some of this yesterday. I'm still feelin' it. I've had chili for three days straight now. I can't stand looking at bass or guitar stuff, so I'm pretty free of the desire to acquire more. I've got enough for a music store. I pretty much feel the same way about it as I do chili right now. Good stuff, but I've had so much it makes me a little ill to think about.I have been buying little MIDI doodads, though. Not instruments, just connectors and such. Got my MIDI Merger today, so about all that's left is to hook up the Midibase to the Commodore 64, find an Atari ST or set up an emulator, and learn German so I can figure out the program to interface my archaic sampler with the Atari - the most practical method to save the samples . That should keep me busy for a while.Currently ~ 13 bass guitars, 2 electric uprights, 5 guitars, a few oddball acoustic things, 8 synths/keyboards, V-Drums, various recording geegaws. 2 combos, 5 amp heads, 5 cabinets, and 1 PA rig. Started playing in the mid 80's, so I've had some time to acquire this junk. I never set out to collect anything. From time to time I came across something incredible at a good price, or good at an incredible price (or horrible, free) and couldn't justify NOT taking it home. I can't pick a favorite bass; tends to be the one I'm playing at the moment. Most of them are too different to compare. I started with a "Grand Prix" $100 used precision bass copy and a 35 ton Peavey 15" combo; should have been happy with that, but soon enough I was buying a Rickenbacker and an Eden stack, both of which are long gone. I can't even remember all the items I've bought and sold since then. I have been selling off my stuff slowly for a while but much of it is too rare (and, to me at least, awesome) to part with, especially for the prices I could get now. I've been collecting basses, noise makers, guitars, synths, drum machines, and other stuff I find cool for 10 plus years. I've been through much more than this though, so I've just kept the pieces that resonate with me. First bass was my '78 Gibson RD Artist. $300 with case at an EZpawn in 1993. First guitar was a Harmony Rocket, First synth, a Moog Prodigy.
