I use a Reverend Drivetrain 2, but also got good results using the Marshall Guv'nor model on my GT6B. Members davidM Posted January 26, 2010 Members Share Posted January 26, 2010 I've turned up the gain on my orange head to the 3 o'clock position and gotten a very similar tone with my j/grabber/and ric. The Ric is closest. In a lot of the live perfomrnaces I've seen there is a fender on stage. Don't BB normally use Ampeg as well? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Members LanEvo Posted January 26, 2010 Members Share Posted January 26, 2010 I can nail that tone with the following rig: '72 Jazz Bass (ash body; maple neck) favoring the bridge pickup slightly E-H Q-Tron with gain cranked way up SWR Red Head rig with bass tuned up, mids scooped a little, and treble turned down a tiny bit Just to clarify, I use the Q-Tron like an overdrive.
