Members mlwarriner
anybody use 'em? are they worth the hassle/weight of two basses in one hand or do they suck worse than me trying to imitate lug? discuss.

Members dabbler
I use one. But I don't try to carry them in my hand. A dual bag goes on my back. I like it 'cause, since I move my own stuff, it is one less thing to keep up with. I much prefer the dual to 2 singles when I am taking 2 basses. Members mlwarriner
I been thinking the same thing lately Matt... dunno. i'm definitely one to always take a backup bass. and with my rig being down to a single trip (the MB-210 in one hand, the schro 1212 in the other)... Members One Bad Monkey
I have a double bag that I've used for years. No name on it, so I can't give you any specifics. It's nicely padded, and does its job well. However, it's HEAVY when loaded with two basses in it (and mine has space for two electrics, or my electric and EUB). Even on my back, it's a lot to ask. For that reason alone, I've been using single bags as of late and taking the extra trip to the car.
Members Jazz Ad
I use nothing but double bags. They're very convenient to bring either several instruments or one instrument and a lot of stuff. You need to get a good one because with the extra weight they tend to tear quicker than a single bag. I have a Probag, which seemed the best compromize between good quality affordability.

Members Bluescout
I have a double but don't like it much. It's old and becomes clumsy. Instead, I use single bags and got a girlfriend to carry them.

Members Cpt. Spliff
oh and i ALWAYS gate check my basses. How does that work ?Having seen the state of some hardshells after a flight, I'd be really nervous about a gigbag.

Members Taustin Powers
but it is easier to check one bag in then two Wouldn't that make it three? Seems like even more of a hassle?
Members Cpt. Spliff
Not to single out United, but this looks like a reality show. The thing about bringing your bass as hand luggage is, you might want to have it in a gigbag. What with your other luggage and all. If they refuse you, it's worrying time. Members guitargod0dmw
I have a double bag...it's a Ritter RG9000. It's horrible...don't buy one! The back pack straps on it broke one of the first times I was using it. It was pretty heavy, but one would think they design it to handle that weight. I guess not... I'd like to get a better one eventually.
