Members summit111
My Brothers, It's finally here, Mardi Gras weekend! Parades are being rescheduled today cause of rain, but Sunday thru Fat Tuesday is clear skies! Big musical weekend here. The parades are all about the Marching Bands, The Southern University Jaguars, Saint Augustine's Marching 100, Alcee Fortier, Warren Easton, McDonogh 35, and Sarah T. Reed High Schools, just to name a few. Several of us are costuming on Royal and Bourbon St. with our wives Mardi Gras Day and we just might have to break out the marching drums... Our dance band is playing for the Krewe of Xanadu and we open with Second Line, Big Chief, Professor LongHair Goin' to the Mardi Gras, Carnival Time, Saints, Iko Iko. The rest is all Fats Domino, Huey Piano Smith, Irma Thomas, and Clarence Frogman Henry. The Krewe of Endymion Extravaganza in the Superdome will feature Adam Levine and Maroon 5. Krewe of Bacchus is Sunday night. Zulu and Rex are on Tuesday. There are about a million other parades but too many to mention. Too bad if you ain't here! Members summit111
Jmarcus, Notice how authentic the Rouses television commercials are with the Mardi Gras Indians, Skeletons, Baby Dolls, St. Aug Marching Band, etc? A lot of thought went into that! As far as French Quarter gigs go, my last one was at the Jax Brewery Riverview room. Pain in the butt load in and out and $20 parking. Great view with the river and cruise ships passing by. Loading up for our Parade gig tonight. Masking on Royal and Bourbon St. tomorrow. Look for about 20 yellow birds! Might have to give you a sub call one day!
