Members SiCkboy78
Im looking for a few songs now that basically everyone loves to sing to. But for people in the 21-35 crowd. Im a bit out of the loop with the stadard fare. So what are your go to songs to "get em".
Members fancyfootwork
For that age range, these are songs that if you can pull off solo and get the energy up, it's like having a band behind you. Most people don't know verses to anything, but the chorus is where it is at. If you can get a moment where they scream and throw back their heads singing, you did it right. Members John Bartus
Actually, "Smooth" was Santana featuring Rob Thomas... And let me add: "Sweet Caroline" - Neil Diamond "American Pie" (groan) - Don McLean "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" - Righteous Brothers "Breakdown" - Tom Petty "Brown Eyed Girl" - Van Morrison "Piano Man" - Billy Joel "867-5309/Jenny" - Tommy Tutone "Wanted Dead or Alive" - Bon Jovi "Sweet Home Alabama" - Lynyrd Skynyrd "Another Brick in the Wall Part II" - Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd "California Dreaming" - Mamas & Papas "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" - The Tokens "The Gambler" - Kenny Rogers "The Joker" - Steve Miller Band "Country Roads" - John Denver "Margaritaville" and "Volcano" - Jimmy Buffett "Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)" - Harry Belafonte "City of New Orleans" - Arlo Guthrie "Black Water" - Doobie Brothers "Drift Away" - Dobie Gray "Friends in Low Places" - Garth Brooks I think I'll stop there. And yes, I perform every one of these songs -- certainly not every night, and usually by reque$t only (if you catch the hint).

Yea, singing along to the Dropkick Murphys is so ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.. Look, just trying to please a small town audience. If it was up to me I play alot of {censored} no one heard of.. Then again, I probably wouldn't be playing for to long. So what national touring band are you guys in?
Members Terry Allan Hall
If you're gigging for pay, playing songs you're not crazy about is like being a plumber for pay...even though it's nice to create a brand-new system, a lot of days your job will be running a "snake" through sewage lines...it's all part of the job. I don't see where you have anything to apologize for. Personally, I'm guided by one thing only - what I want to do. If I want to do something, I do it. Can't spend a whole lot of time worrying about what some asshat on the Internet thinks of it.

Set's like that. Just my opinion, not fact. But come on. "Set's" ??? Why the apostrophe? Does it indicate possession, as in something the set has? Or is it indicative of a contraction, condensing the two separate words "set is"? If you're going to be critical of people who make their living playing music, at least have the common decency to realize that the plural form of a noun (e.g., SETS) does not require an apostrophe. Members richardmac
Don't you wonder why some people bother? I think they cruise by this forum, see something to make fun of, and jump in and make fun of it.

Members richardmac
I only know the first three lines. Not sure what you actually end up doing with the drunken sailor. That's sorta like Christmas mass... everyone sings the first verse of Silent Night but no one knows the second or third verses. If you really want everyone to sing along, start singing the theme song to The Flintstones...

Whereas "In the town of Bedrock, they're the modern stone age family" is not in the same league.
