Members tubedog
I'm semi new to the rack thing and have settled on this as my setup. I am using an MP-1 and a Triaxis for preamps into an Lexicon MPX-G2 for effects into a VHT 2150. My questions is how do I set this up to be able to use both preamps via midi. Do I need some type of amp/loop switcher to switch between preamps or can I just run a splitter box from my guitar to both inputs and do the rest via midi? Any ideas would be a great help. -tubedog (mark)
Members Cougar Hunter
you can do splitter to both preamps ---both preamp outs to a line mixer---line mixer out to lexicon---lexicon out to power amp. you can have midi program change switch each unit to any setting you want.you can have one preamp clean, the other distorted. you can have either one go to a silent setting, etc. I used to run an MP1 with a rocktron pro gap ultra this way. I use an uptown pedal pusher for my splitter and a rane sm26 or sm82 for the line mixing. or you can do all of this with some kind of switcher
Members TimmyP
You don't need a line mixer to combine them - just make a passive summer. Go to http://www.rane.com/note109.html and see figure 1 (although you'll likely want to increase the resistor values by 10x I think).
Members gimme411
I use an Axess Electronics GRX-4 with my MP-1 Ultra+ and my stock MP-1. Works great. Well built. Well supported. Mario is the man! http://www.axess-electronics.com
Members dmtnt
GRX4 will work and +1 to Mario being a great guy! Another unit that'll work is the Lehle D.Loop (that's what I use to switch between my MP-1 and Triaxis). It has stereo capability, a great buffer, and MIDI switching. http://www.lehle.com/products/D_Loop/index.php?country=de?=en
Members tubedog
Thanks guys, that's what I needed. I think I'm gonna look for a GRX-4 or Loop D Loop.
