Members RyGy
I am looking for recomendations for a 1U rack EQ for my rack that I am just starting. This is my setup so far Carvin CT4M with EMGs --> ENGL E530 --> MXR 10 band EQ pedal in the loop --> Carvin DCM 150 --> Earcandy Cab I want to get rid of the EQ pedal. I don't care if the EQ is 15, or 31 band, stereo, or mono ext.

Members RyGy
or a sonic maximizer??
Members Keebz
or a sonic maximizer?? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't do it!!! I'd suggest looking at a Rane MPE 28 or MPE 14... Because that's exactly what I'm looking for...it's midi controlled!! A sonic max thins out the preamp's tone...The highs turn brittle and the lows get muddy. Gross.
Members alekke
Go G-major if you have the money! That way you can also use some of the effects it has like gate, compressor, reverb ... If not go RANE or DBX
Members petejt
The Alto Q 5-band Parametric EQ is sweet for what you want. And 1U too.

Members jimosity
If you want specifically EQ and nothing more, the ProQ is an awesome unit... Though I've had the Engl 530 and it's not the quietest preamp around, so you may wanna save for the G-Major and take advantage of the gate and EQ sections it has to offer. One added bonus is that the G-Major can be controlled via Midi and will switch channels on your Engl via it's 1/4" switching jack. I'd avoid the Sonic Maximizer at all costs, I think they purposely inplement a 'tone suck' feature when you put it in bypass mode so that it really seems like it's helping your tone when it is engaged.
