Members semi_divine
Yeah, I imagine the less expensive stuff are just toys. However, I already have mics and stands cuz I do recording so that deflates the cost a little. Package 5 is more what I need, I think. Thanx
Members flanc
That Package #5 (Mixwiz, Yorkville EF500P mains over LS800P subs) is a great backbone to a kick-ass small/mid sized club rig. Add whatever monitoring you'll need and you should be golden!
Members J the D
I second the # 5 recommendation. I'm running the passive EF-508s that the powered tops are based on and I'm lusting for the passive LS808s that are the basis for the powered subs. If not,try to get into the loop. Band breakups usually mean cheap equipment. I mean, how many people here with lots of PA/sound equipment actually bought all of it new? For instance,I own three QSC PLX3002's. I bought the first one new shortly after they came out for just over $900,which was a really good deal then. Most places were selling them for $1099 at the time. I bought the other two used from someone who tried to start a small sound company that didn't pan out. They were used maybe 15 times and I paid $425 each for them. That's just a small example.
