Members Shovelhead
I currently have a pair of Yamaha SM15V speakers that I've been using over a pair of subs as a FOH speaker. But I'm thinking of upgrading to a pair of JBL SRX715s and using the Yamahas as stage monitors. What's the general opinion of the SRX715, and would it be a substantial upgrade? Members ned911
I love my SRX715's not sure how they compare to Yammie's but my guess is they are a step up. The fact that they only weigh 48lbs is a big plus too.
Members Not Serial
i dont have or use the srx715 but i do have and use 2 srx722's as well as several yammy clubs both 4 and 5 series. the 722's are 100% in a completely different league than the clubs, vastly superior in power and sound quality. the pattern is quite different which may be benificial to you or non-benificial depending. and i LIKE clubs, i am not bad mouthing them. the srx are better. Members flanc
Very significant step. I wouldn't be scratching my head guessing which I prefer. Of course, the price tag is commensurate...nothing's free.
Members agedhorse
Big step up is a bit of an UNDERstatement.
Members axeman6969
If it were me, I'd get the 712Ms or 722s if you can afford them. I like the sound of 12's with monitors rather than 15s when using subs.
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted December 21, 2007 CMS Author Share Posted December 21, 2007 If you've got the opportunity to get SRX, go for it. If you're accustomed to Yamaha Clubs (or anything in that $300-400 price range) the SRX will make you very happy. Not a knock on the Clubs...*in the price range* they are practically a reference standard.
Members ned911
I would love to have 722's but they don't pole mount. Once I get a second pair of 718's I'll get 722's. One of the best sounding (PA wise) bands I've ever heard ran 2 722's over a of 4719's (2x18) per side.
Members Dogoth
For the SRX line. They are light weight and kick *%%
