What is the difference on decibles before distortion kicks in? Second, I have a drummer who has a board which he runs his drums through, amplifying the sound even more. I currently run 600 watts and find it's still not enough!! I know crazy!! I find a lot of distortation especially when I am using active basses. What do you think of using DC power amps? Small light weight, but I am still not convinced that it can hold up with a clean sound at those levels. What is your experience with them? Moderators daddymack Posted April 3, 2022 Moderators Share Posted April 3, 2022 I have never tried a DC power amp...but amps typically convert AC to DC....you need to look at the specs for any specific amp. 1) find a new drummer. 2) what music are you playing that needs over 600W for bass? 3) how is your hearing?
