From the manual:

HPF

Switches in the channel high pass filter. This attenuates

frequencies below 80Hz by 12dB per octave. The filter is pre-insert,

pre-EQ. Select the HPF to reduce low frequency noise such as

microphone popping, stage noise and tape transport rumble.

I do get a most annoying rumble when I transport my gaff tape across the stage wearing my work boots.....:p

What? Doesn't your bi-plane have a reel-to-reel tape? Hang on a sec, and I'll get my bag phone out to call someone who can mail me a mimeograph copy of what they look like....

The gestetner machine is broken, so the mimeograph is out, maybe a detailed telegram will suffice.

Back when tape rumble was an issue, I don't remember many MI boards that had HPF - of course that could just be my failing memory...
