Members Shaster
I think a few people have overlooked the ST2 ins. There's still a lot to be said for the good old MixWiz. Saved my bacon last weekend, when the two sweep mids were the "only" EQ I had, and I was contending with acoustic and electric guitars, no pre amp in them - going straight to the board. A bright sunny day with all my other digital gear washed out by the light, the old MixWiz was dead simple to see and operate.
Members fdew
I built the "stereo-to-mono summing box" that's shown here:http://www.rane.com/note109.htmlIt's simple enough to build into a speaker-sized 1/4" male plug.Took about 15 minutes to make, works like a champ and cost about $5.MG Yes, I have built a bunch of them. they work great. I have 3 forms Built into a 1/8 to 1/4 plug as you mention, no problem except keeping track of it. One built into my rack using a small hidden terminal strip. Line into my mixer I added a 1/8 in TRS jack to the DI box I carry in my Gig bag and installed the summing on that jack. I put in a fancy 1/4 in jack so when a 1/4 in plug (ex guitar) is plugged in it opens the shunt resistor, but Mr horse says you don't need the shunt resistor. If I make another it will be easier.
