Phil O'Keefe
How about some Prime Studio gear? I'm a studio geek, so this stuff draws me like a kid to candy...
Phil O'Keefe
In their own area off of the arena is where you'll find Harman, which is the parent company of numerous classic brands like Crown, dbx, JBL, Soundcraft and AKG.
Phil O'Keefe
I'm really interested in these new 500 series units from dbx! Kudos to Harman for this! Man, I sure wish more companies made "what's new" clearer and easier to determine - it would make our job easier in bringing the latest stuff to your attention! Phil O'Keefe
There's always a ton of pro-grade gear on display in the Radial Engineering and Primacoustic booths. These folks make some of the best gear around, and if you run into an audio related problem - live or in the studio, or in your guitar, bass or keyboard rig, chances are they've already designed a box that solves the problem brilliantly. Phil O'Keefe
And props to the folks at NAMM, or whoever came up with this idea - I saw these 31st Annual TEC Award nominee signs in various booths throughout the show floor. Whenever I saw one I tried to take a picture of it so you'd know which gear was in the running for a TEC Award this year. Keep an eye open for them as we continue with our virtual tour of the 2016 Winter NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Phil O'Keefe
I remember when Auratone 5C speakers could be found in practically every control room you walked into - that was back in the 70s and 80s. They're one of the first "real world" reference speakers, and - they're back.

Phil O'Keefe
The Latch Lake stands booth. Talk about standing (sorry) behind (or is that beneath?) your products! Their DynaMount robotic microphone mounts are very interesting too!

Phil O'Keefe
Space probes or microphones? Only their designers know for certain. Speaking of space, if we ever encounter aliens that aren't fans of analog, we'll know that they're not an advanced civilization. Play a Slim Whitman record for them - I'm sure they'll appreciate it!
