Members Telecruiser
I am about to pull the trigger on 2 PRX 618-XLF's and in a month or so 2 PRX 635's. These will go along with my 4 PRX 612's. One of the things I am concerned about is placing these in the direct sun. With summer coming and playing outside you don't always have the choice of placing them in the shade. How much direct sun can the amps take in 80-90 summer heat? What if the sun is shining directly on the backside (amp side)? Will it be a problem?
Members twostone
Somebody last summer suggested gaff taping cardboard to top of the cabs to keep it shaded it.Me I don't mess with any out door stages because here the south we have triple digit temperatures in the summer. Plus the wind can kick up a lot dust at one place that has a gravel and dirt parking lot. Plus the pay stinks and just not worth the risk having dust blowing all in your gear and any damages cause by it.
Members mrcpro
I've put small clip or box fans on Mackie powered cabs in the past under stressful conditions. There's always that option.

Members agedhorse
Direct sunlight on any black metal (including consoles) will raise the surface temp, so factor this into your aoplication.
