Members itspat7285
picked up an old Ampeg super echo twin I beleive it's an et-2b model. Thing is a Katrina survivor. Anyway took it to my tech and got all the electronics working right, but whoever owned it previously had it sitting on its side during Katrina and the plywood is pretty rotted out. My tech was recommending a tolex job on it but I'm wondering should I replace the plywood on the one side of the cab or leave it alone?
Members DeepEnd
If the wood is rotted or otherwise in bad shape, there's no point covering it with new Tolex, IMHO. I'd replace the wood and recover it.
Members guitarcapo
Yea I'd strip off all the tolex and get out some replacement plywood, Bondo and epoxy and get to work.
