Members jinny Posted January 25, 2015 Members Posted January 25, 2015 The guy with blue shirt and hat is beating on some instrument...what is that? Anyone know? [video=youtube;8pe7Mkn3MRY] What type of drum is this other guy using? [video=youtube;51Vtw6jakqE] [video=youtube;Jemb7gzoyxk]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jemb7gzoyxk
Members 1001gear Posted January 25, 2015 Members Posted January 25, 2015 It's a sample of claps and stuff I think. The thing he's acting on is a set of modern temple blocks. Man you sure know a lot of crappy Asian stuff huh? Kidding. That Beyonce girl in the Singer Forum is very good.
Members jinny Posted January 26, 2015 Author Members Posted January 26, 2015 That Asian stuff is taking the world by storm..haha...
Members 1001gear Posted January 26, 2015 Members Posted January 26, 2015 They already have the car market. EVERYthing looks like it's from Korea. They probably get'em 5 for 1 from Samick Guitars.
Members jinny Posted January 28, 2015 Author Members Posted January 28, 2015 Korea can be for everyone if you're talented in songwriting or musically inclined...Just ask Rebecca Johnson and Brad Moore

Members 1001gear Posted January 30, 2015 Members Posted January 30, 2015 Gotta say yuk. The tunes remind me of the Japanese pop stuff. Seems all these hot economies are also fish for the American big studio entertainment model. The songs for instance are like children's tunes glitzed up for the high school empire. Cute - I believe is the word they use. Pleasant enough but the one thing that drives me nuts about 'em is the melodies. Too much rhythm. I don't care what language it's in, when you use gratuitous syncopation as in the Johnson examples, the accents will never fall naturally. Mechanical streams like that are better left to instrumental tracks. Compare to Beyonce girl who sang a ton of extra notes and embellishment but had feel and swing as well. Same for this Moore guy. Can't get into or behind this crank out remix stuff. [video=youtube;5g4GeAunU0c]

Music nowdays isn't quite like the 80s or 70s which was great.
Members 1001gear Posted January 31, 2015 Members Posted January 31, 2015 That's just it. Ironically it's not about music. It's medication for the workforce. Pros benefit though., They get a defined, compact gig.
Members Phil_The_Rodent Posted January 31, 2015 Members Posted January 31, 2015 The guy in video one indeed looks to be playing temple blocks, which is not the sound recorded, which is an electronic pad. The other two videos with the octagon pads come from the Simmons Electronic Drumkit.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simmons_(electronic_drum_company) I have no reason to doubt that those drum sounds are actually Simmons sounds.
Members 1001gear Posted February 1, 2015 Members Posted February 1, 2015 On that I said clap samples but the clinic called and said negative. Don't really know what they are.
Members Phil_The_Rodent Posted February 1, 2015 Members Posted February 1, 2015 I'd say it's an e-Snare, but don't ask me which box.
