Here is the third installment in the "Hendrix Melodic Rhythm Guitar" lesson series...its kind of short but we just explore how this concept works with a 6th string root minor chord shape:

Next week I should have the final "Etude" for you guys to play....

In other news I have been tweaking the websites a bunch...there is now a "Registered users" section (which is free) where I have the lessons on my site organized into "Courses" so that you know the order of lessons to take if you want to learn Theory, Technique, Modes, Blues...whatever....there are currently 9 courses set up. All you have to do is register!

On my forum I've set up a place just for the guys using the lesson site to ask questions and whatnot: http://markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9

There are also guest instructors like Robert Renman from DolphinStreet.com, Roger Sullivan and Tom Harkenrider dropping lessons in from time to time!

You can also get regular updates on new lessons and other stuff on MarkWeinGuitarLessons.com now on Twitter! http://twitter.com/mwgl

Whew! Anyhow, I hope you guys dig the lesson this week...next week should be the final Hendrix and then I'll be moving on to something new!

Hey Mark...I'm trying to jive with that example 3 tab, but that 9th fret and 5th fret note together are all sorts of dissonant,no? Is the tab correct?

it is....if you play them together quickly the dissonance isn't as jarring...sometimes dealing with more dissonant sounds is more a matter of how long you sit on them and how much tension you want to cause the listener....:)

Ultimately we have a melody dressed up in harmony, if that makes sense. The overall effect of the part will sound better than each individual part will if they are just "sat on".

Thanks!

Its been a crazy week so I haven't added any content besides the "courses" but I should have more stuff in a few days....with the beginning of the school year the real life demands of running a studio/retail store have been a little overwhelming this week
