Members mcmurray Posted October 19, 2011 Members Posted October 19, 2011 I've ordered my copy, will let you know my thoughts when I get it. If done right, this could be a game changer in the field of ab initio guitar tuition. http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-US/home/ Early reviews are encouraging; http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/10/rocking-out-with-rocksmith-bring-your-own-guitar/ http://www.thegamingvault.com/2011/10/review-rocksmith-360ps3/ [video=youtube;aWnmSFFJpW8]

Members adslalex Posted October 19, 2011 Members Posted October 19, 2011 It says the game is not PAL compatible, I'm doomed
Members mcmurray Posted October 19, 2011 Author Members Posted October 19, 2011 PAL and NTSC are old analogue tv standards and only apply to old analogue tv sets. If you have a fairly recent tv with HDMI or Component input, you're good to go.

Members benzem Posted November 22, 2011 Members Posted November 22, 2011 Ugh! Doesn't the fact that the timing is WAY off bother anybody? Likes nails on a chalkboard, rhythmically.
Members NuttyGambler Posted November 23, 2011 Members Posted November 23, 2011 Got it yesterday. Am totally loving it. At 46 yo... got me to pickup my two guitars that have been untouched for 3 years... and am going to finally actually learn to play. Totally jazzed... best $80 I've ever spent.

His screen correction isn't set properly, that's why it's doing that. If that's not tweaked, you'll get that crappy delay.
Members Virgman Posted November 23, 2011 Members Posted November 23, 2011 I'm not quite clear how it works but it looks pretty neat.
Members BigTimeFun Posted November 23, 2011 Members Posted November 23, 2011 I'm not quite clear how it works but it looks pretty neat. The colored blocks are a string: E RedA YellowD BlueG OrangeB GreenE Purple Then within the box there will be a code as to what you need to do with the note or chord. Surf Hell doesn't really have anything other than a slide but there's a code for bends, hammer/pull-off, trem picking or whatever. Takes a while to get used to it but is pretty well done. Edit: and you're just plugging in the guitar to your console and the console's acting like a very smart tuner. It generally knows when you're playing the C chord it wants, for instance.

Before I saw your post I was thinking "Damn, at least its more like guitar than guitar hero but holy {censored} is that timing bad. The crowd should be booing!!" Did you fast forward to the score...? It seems to rank the playing quite high.... At least the guitar video game will now actually teach people to play the real thing....
Members magh8 Posted December 4, 2011 Members Posted December 4, 2011 I just noticed this today looks pretty entertaining
