Nice lesson, Mark, and I appreciate the effort you took to write down the lick, but can I be picky about notation? The start of version 1 -- tying the first two eighth notes together is misleading since that crosses the beat. Maybe if you added an initial eighth note rest and tied the A and C instead...

I've been using Guitar Pro instead of Finale and sometimes I can't get things to work the way I want them. I fiddled with that pickup bar for about 10 minutes and then gave up and moved on....I'm starting a new book this year and it looks like I'll be reinvesting in the new version of Finale for it....
