That is what is making it so hard, part of me is like "They are only $40 each, you can afford to snag one, maybe even two" then I hear "you decided to stop buying effects until you bought a Telecaster" in the back of my head. Think of it as an "investment" ... the likelihood of MODfx units becoming collectible is quite high ... especially if this was, indeed, the final run.
