hey Kev, you still have 3 of them?

 

I'm more fond of the Zoom Hyper Lead these days. A bit less processed sounding, but there's no pedal with such sick amounts of gain as the Driver 5000.

Yeah, I still have them. The thing is you need a nice clean

channel with lots of headroom for this pedal, this way it doesn't sound processed at all. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

Also, don't dime the gain and it will sing to you....

Yeah, I use the clean channel too.

 

But when you A/B it side to side with a boosted H&K Tubefactor, the difference becomes clear.

 

Still, I remember how I felt, the day I shipped mine to you, and tried it on my Engl Savage 60 on rehearsal level, just before shipping...

 

man, what a phat sound.

Yeah, The Hughes and Kettner is a very nice pedal indeed.

But I always find myself going back to the Driver. The

secret is that you need a clean channel that doesn't breakup

at all.....that's the ticket.....phat sound in spades.
