Members zinzin Posted March 6, 2006 Members Share Posted March 6, 2006 i finally found the time to record some soundclips of my homemade tremolo pedal, the "zinzin helter skelter tremolo". it's based on the schematics of the EA tremolo. i am a totally beginner but it was not that difficult to build after all. THE ZINZIN HELTER SKELTER TREMOLO: it offers speed, depth and volume control. the speed is rather limited, no stuttering sound, but some nice vintage range. great plus is the volume 'cause you can avoid the volume drop. by setting the depth knob to zero, the pedal can be used as a normal boost pedal as it boosts the signal +9-10 dB. it also has true bypass, can be powered with battery or 9v power supply. i recorded everything with my epi firebird direct into MAC -> garageband using the amp simulations of the software, therefor - and because i had no monitoring system - the sound is nothing special, but i think you get the idea. here ya go: BOOST MODE: first seconds are with pedal in bypass, then pedal kicked in. volume=max. / depth=min. http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2YA0H1JE09A3Z08693J1TXHHAP FAST TREMOLO CLEAN:: speed=max / depth: 3/4 / volume=3/4 http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0RKJ00BZLOH5F1T5AXQN5SD7B4 FAST TREMOLO OVERDRIVE: first seconds are bypassed then: speed=max. / depth=max / volume=3/4 http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2L6WZ8WP2AUFH10AYSKXC76DSK SLOW TREMOLO CLEAN: first seconds bypassed than: speed=min. / depth=middle / volume=3/4 http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2RTCEPM8GKK843V8CWU9IOCJD2 and finally a lil' song for ya (just 1 minute)! its a jazz suite ( ) - absolutely not my style of music but i packed 3 guitars in it with the helter skelter tremolo on. all first takes! i am proud like the sun that i really succeeded in building this pedal!!! enjoy: Tremolo Jazz, Tremolo!
