Members jeverist
The phaser sounds in my Boss GT-8 are some of the best I've ever used. So no, digital does not necessarily mean a bad phase sound.
Members Blungo
My Ineko does an ok phase sound. Certainly nothing wrong with it. I just prefer my PS-1A.
Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
To me, yes ... but you may find something you really like. I just like a certain tone and vibe for my phasing that's all so I use analogue.

Members penguin_rock
The Boss PH-3 Phase Shifter is excellent. Truly.
Members Uma Floresta
The Boss phaser is one of the worst out there - nasally tone that sounds more like a wah-wah set to a sine wave. Not a good phaser sound at all. The only thing good about it is the rise and fall modes, which kind of sounds techno. I wouldn't waste my money on that though.
