Members march56
Aside from the CZ1000 and similar models, which of the earlier and cheap units had midi as well as full size keys etc. that may work as a controller?-M.C.
Members dereksljuka
WK-1300 made an effective MIDI controller for me. It has 73 full size keys that are on par with today's controllers (read: kinda cheap plastic feeling). Pitch bend wheel but no mod wheel. The controller I am using now is a Yamaha CBX-K3, which I bought on ebay for $18. It has 49 full size keys, pitch bend wheel, mod wheel, and various MIDI control buttons & slider. Its keys are much nicer than the Casio or M-Audio keys. I see these on ebay frequently and they usually sell for pretty cheap
Members Umbra
VZ1. I wouldn't bother with any early casios outside of the CZ or VZ series.

Members Awake77
I had a a VZ1 for a short time, it's a very well built keyboard and sounds cool.
