Members CicadaSilence
I played a vintage Ampeg SVT/8x10 bass rig last night. Holeeeee {censored}... It was perfect. I had all the tone controls at noon, and turned the volume up to about 9 o'clock. Filled the entire room. It was full, present, defined, and still warm and fat. Anyone looking for a kidney? I've got to raise some cash, quick-like.

Members letterswewrote
if you like it that much, do what it takes. a great amp is of the utmost importance. a good guitar will sound bad through a {censored} amp, but a cheap guitar can sound good through a great one.
