Members thriftyshirt
I just had to dump and reinstall windows due to an overheat ( ) I was using AVG before, but I question its ability as I had a few problems pop up now and then. Any recommendations?

Members 4Kenoath
if you just need a search/destroy, dl Lavasoft Adaware, which is generally considered tops...Spybot is also up there, i hear...both free I actually have both of these but they're specifically designed to locate and destroy spyware, not viruses pe se IRRC. I also use an online anti-virus software which is automatically updated for the latest viruses (called Vet Antivirus). When it comes to viruses, I think a quality, sophisticated payware that's auto-updated correctly is the way to go IMHO. I'm always dubious as to how well covered you are with freeware when it comes to viruses, and considering the amount of damage some viruses can do, it's not worth skimping risk. Members vamp hunter d
avast and avg are both great. Adaware is a peice of software I personally think as a required utility for MS Windows. I've had so many problems disappear with it...
