Members dopey1978
Heading down to Portland for holidays and wanted to hit a few shops to look at pedals. Any ideas where to go, or anywhere to avoid? I've just looked in the phonebook and here's what came up:
Members Sir_Dr_Lawyer
Guitar Crazy Old Town Music Both are great, Old town has an excellent collection of pedals. Trade up was OK as well.
Members Gremson
Trade-Up kicks ass... If you can, check out both of them. There's one one 47th and Division, and another on 19th and Alberta. Stay away from Apple at all costs. They've all got such giant heads over there I doubt you'll even be able to get through the door. And if you do go to Portland Music, I would advise not going to the one on 123rd and Division, they don't stock a whole lot of anything. Also keep in mind that the Portland music on Broadway sells only acoustic gear.Have fun!
Members kittycaster
Old Town Music does have a great selection of booteek pedals. Hank that works there is da man!
Members The Great Waldo Pepper
Old Town is a glorified pawnshop. The pizza joint next door is pretty good.
Members dopey1978
Thanks all - appreciate the advice! I think I'm going to aim for: ) has an actual retail store? Looks like they've got tons of pedals, but I can't tell if they actually have a storefront, or they're just online.Anything else cool to do in Portland? I'll just be passing thru and only have a day...Thanks all
