BASS GUITAR overdrive/dirt?

Rat is good. All of the muffs work extremely well on bass. I use a USA muff but lots of people prefer the green ones. The green one is a little more 'vintage' sounding imo if that's your thing.

The metal muff w/ top boost is one that's often overlooked. The 3 band EQ and wide range of gain makes it great if you want distortion instead of fuzz.

The 'king' of bass fuzz is the zvex wooly mammoth if you want to drop some bills

i used my NYC RI muff into a Fender rumble amp with a mexican jazz bass and it sounded {censored}ing awful.

Maybe the amp just didn't mesh well with the pedal? I don't know what kind of sound you were going for but a j-bass w/ a NYC muff is a pretty standard setup for countless bands... especially in the way of punk, sludge, or doom.

NO!

listen.

Buy something with a clean blend.

Essential to bass dirt.

You are not a guitarist! You need assbottomOK!???

get a sparledrive or even an orion bass distortion, or something with a blend.

LOK AT ANY BASS DISTORTION AND YOU WILL SEE A BLEND.

If you don't wanna fart squit then listen.

However, P-nut uses a big muff and I love his squit so go for it.

don't listen to me.

{censored} up on your own.

I didn't experience any of that, it just didn't have a whole lot of tonal variation when messing with the settings.
