I'm also interested in a pretty kickass octave fuzz. I can get the octave boost sound with my fuzzfactory but I want the full high gain octave up fuzz. was thinking of building a foxx tone machine... can anyone tell me how it sounds? I've grown to dislike the fuzz on my big muff - not enough dynamics. How does the tone machine compare?

ya can go with the Dano French Toast, fuzz + octave.

but theres also the Guyatone The Fuzz wich is a fuzz with this octave up in it. turning the fuzz way up makes the octave more noticeable. WAY more agressive than the Dano or the Tone Machine.

Zvex Fuzz Factory. You can try to get a vexter series used, maybe? It's probably the best fuzz out there, and can do everything you want. It does octaves too, both higher and lower. The key to the octaves on the FF is that you just need to pick lightly. It's damn cool.
