Members n8wood
I have an RV-3 that when I switch on/off it will cut out for like a 1/4 of a second. There is no sound being output for that short moment. The effect works and I've noticed no other problems. I opened it up and all the connections look solid. Any ideas on what is going wrong? Could it be the on/off switch?
Members Keith SIO
not a problem, that is how it is designed.
Members n8wood
not a problem, that is how it is designed. Are you sure, that seems kind of weird? I guess it's not a problem if you leave it on permanently which is what most people would probably do with it. thanks.
Members Snowden
Yeah. All of them do it.

Members amaleelake
Mine doesn't do that. I can't imagine that that is "how they were designed". That would drive me crazy...
Members friction
Mine does it as well and the vast majority of them do. Some people ^^^^^ are luckier than the rest of us, but they seem to be in more exclusive company. It just takes some crafty timing to avoid. Members Woody777
Really??? I was thinking about picking one of these up... Does it cut out the entire guitar signal or just delay the reverb effect? What about the RV-2? Does it have the same issue?

Members Woody777
cuts out the entire guitar signal for a split second. Well, that's unusable... thanks for the heads up!
Members MathiasWilliam
i dont think mine does this?? ill go check. So if i strum a chord and then turn it on...my signal will cut out sopposedly??
Members Collapse
My PS-5 does that too, but only in certain modes. Or maybe just not all the time. I haven't tested it to figure it out exactly, but it's annoying.
Members friction
It's like a little hiccup...it really doesn't bother me all too much and certainly doesn't make the pedal unusable.

I completely agree. It's not like everyone will be like 'what happened?!?'. It's really just a split second.

For live use with a band... will I find it to be an issue? Is the sound of the reverb worth the hiccup?

Will you be turning it off in the middle of playing something? If you time it right you can avoid it.
Members friction
For live use with a band... will I find it to be an issue? Is the sound of the reverb worth the hiccup? Missed the second part.. I think the reverbs are good but IMO the RV-3 shines in the delay/reverb settings.
Members willburford
Will you be turning it off in the middle of playing something? If you time it right you can avoid it. This is true. And like I said, it's really not a big issue. I haven't been bothered by it. It (the verb) won't just cut off abruptly either - it trails. And if you leave it on for the entire song, it's certainly not a problem.
Members willburford
I think the reverbs are good but IMO the RV-3 shines in the delay/reverb settings. Yeah, it really is. I was only using it for reverb (being that I have 3 other delays), and I think it'll be redundant soon as I'm getting a vibrolux. Also 4 delays on a board is a bit redundant. Members Woody777
Will you be turning it off in the middle of playing something? If you time it right you can avoid it. Actually... it may not be an issue at all. I use it in a footswitchable effects loop. I kick on the effect before I need it and then turn the loop on. So any delay in signal would happen before I turn the loop on. How is the RV-3? Do you guys like it? I need a good subtle verb for solos and a deeper lusher verb for ambiant sounds... usually in conjuction with delay and tremolo and fairly high gain. I find it excels at the deeper verbs though. A lot of people agree with this.
