Members bubbleboyjones
Im using a Peavey Classic 50 and I have a Boss GE-7 going into the FX Loop. I never used one before but is it common for the overall amp volume to drop when the EQ pedal is not on? Its a serial loop
Members IvIark
Just take the GE-7 out of the loop competely and put a patch cable between the send and return of the loop. Does the volume stay constant or does that give a volume drop as well?
Members bubbleboyjones
You know what my fault. In reality the volume doesn't drop with the pedal off...its just that with the pedal on the EQ sound is that much bigger and I didn't realize that at the moment. I just replugged the EQ into the front of the amp like I first tried and the sound is much thinner.
Members IvIark
The effect will be less if you put it in front of your amp, unless it follows a distortion or overdrive pedal. In the loop it gets to work on the tone created by the amps preamp so the results should be more obvious

When I had it in there I couldn't believe the difference the loop made for the EQ.Similar result with say a delay pedal?
Members Brambulance
whats keeping you from testing it? If I get my amp back I'll probably have a smm/h, small clone, small stone, hog & micro amp in the loop... It all comes down to personal preferences!
