HOW TO FIND OUT WATTAGE/OHMS OF HEAD?

Hello,

How do I figure out the wattage & ohms of my Butler head (attached)? Where would it say? I checked the back but didn't know.

Also, is there a method for figuring out head to cab power matching? Like if the head is 50w & the cab is 4x12? What's the general rule?

Thanks!

What does the back of your amp say? Some of them say somthin' like "100 watts at 8 ohms"

You'd want your cab to match your head w/ ohms. Speaker config doesn't matter. You should really figure this out or you may really damage somthing. As long as the cabinet's ohmage is higher than the head you're not in danger, you just won't get as much wattage.

For the head, I have no clue, post gut shots or do research maybe?

For the cab, it depends on the wattage of the speakers, and how the cab is wired. If it's an 8-ohm series/parallel cab (2 pairs of 2x 8-ohm speakers in series, in parallel) then the wattage is 1/2 the sum of the speakers wattage. Find more info here:
