Members denimboy
Does it suck tone? Which kind of noise does it cut off ? Where do you put it in your chain ? Effects loop ? Worth the buck ?
Members Crxsh
I think the Noise Suppressor of choice around here is probably the ISP Decimator. I don't have experience with either ... so sorry I can't be any more help ... but that's what I know.
Members greenweenie
NS-2 is okay. Not great. The cool thing about it is that you can run the effects in question in the loop therefore creating a gate before the effects and after the effects. But yes, it cuts sustain a bit and it sucks a bit of treble.
Members IRG
I had a NS-2 but just traded it in, nothing wrong with it, I realized I didn't really have a lot of noise in my rig, and single coil/P-90 noise does not go away with this pedal, so that made it sort of moot. I didn't find that it affected my tone, and I tried it with and without. If you set the parameters to attack fairly quickly it will hurt sustain. I found that with my Casino to make it even engage, I had to turn up the decay setting pretty high, which does cut sustain. Every other guitar though I could keep the decay fairly low which didn't effect the sustain much. You do have to use the NS-2 with the send/return loop, otherwise it is pretty much ineffective. Keep any dirt/compressor pedal in this loop, then continue with your other pedals. It uses a fair amount of space/cables this way. Ultimately I found just using my Volume pedal when I want silence works well enough. The ISP Decimator might be a better option - most people rave about it.
