Members Electric Catfish
I just noticed this the other night, and I'm wondering whether it was there all along, and I just didn't notice it for whatever reason, or if something has happened in transport, or something. I realize that that's part of the nature of an analog delay, I'm just wondering why I never noticed it, before. Is this a thing that can go wrong on one, if it didn't start out that way? It's possible that I have been using it in a more noisy environment, before. Anybody else experienced this?
Members rocket34bg
i have a hiss that goes along with my ps-2 repeats, digital delay though. no idea what the problem is it might just be how it is though
Members fadedjoy
when i had that happen on mine it turned out to be a bad analog delay chip, i had to have it repaired (125$), but it was pretty noisy on the repeats.

Members Fender&EHX4ever
One of the trimpots might be set too hot. Might be an easy fix. If not, you could always send the unit to Howard Davis for recalibration, and have him mod it for extended delay while he's got it.

I'm getting ready to move, and cash is a little tight at the moment.

If it was new, seems like they should recalibrate it for free.
Members Loobster
Mine does that too. I just accepted it as part of the package, now I don't even notice it.

Members fat_o_bastard
Mine does the same thing. I emailed Howard about it and it's repairable, just a matter of forking out the cash. With shipping and everything, I can just live with a bit of noise.
Members machine gunner
Mine does that too. I just accepted it as part of the package, now I don't even notice it. +1 and fwiw, I also get it w/ my AD999 at longer delay times.
Members SharkMinusBear
Mine does it, but I only notice it at the long delay times. I like the hiss though... it feels like im playing through some kind of lo-fi stereo.
Members fadedjoy
i had my work done by howard, so even at the worst case like mine i wouldn't expect to spend over 125$
Members johnrambo
mine used to hiss a little but only at the highest delay times.
Members Wilbo26
I'm pretty sure most analog delays have this going on. They do. If you want pristine clean, go digital.
Members Electric Catfish
They do. If you want pristine clean, go digital. Yeah, I think we've covered that, already. I'm familiar with the differences between analog and digital delays, but thanks anyway.
Members Clorox
I've never had any hiss with my DMM. It's one of the ones with the built-in adaptor/wall wart. Maybe that's part of the solution?

Members linusâ„¢
my DMM is making a ruckus of noise.. i had it on the shelf for a few months.. now this? in my frustration i attempted to tweak trimpots to maybe correct it.. I marked them and reset back... but that was probably more harmful than helpful.. i miss my nice quiet DMM.
Members Holey Lint Trap
I believe that AnalogMike will do these mods and repairs for cheaper than Howard Davis. Yes, I know that Howard helped design the thing, but cash is pretty tight right now.
Members Electric Catfish
It's not bothering me any more, to tell you the truth. I think I just took one of those spells of listening too closely to that stuff. I may get it tweaked, eventually, but it's fine as it is, really.
