Nope, he used a Tele Plus with two lace sensors in the bridge position- one on its own is supposed to be a good deal fatter than a stock single coil. The sound you hear in that solo is probably a lot to do with Jonny's Shredmaster distortion pedal. There are a few clones around, IIRC, and BYOC makes a DIY kit if you have the skillz. Members NetStar Posted July 1, 2008 Members Share Posted July 1, 2008 Common mistake. You're imagining he's using teh top one, in fact as Matt says, hehas a Tele Plus. That Humbucking looking pickup is a Dually Lace Sensor. One Lace on its own has a rough 15K output, so two together are 30K...probably three times the output of your Strat pickup.
