Members The Audacity Works
It wasn't a proper vocoder. It was a Digitech Vocalist (I forget which model) triggered by a controller. At least that's what she uses live.
Members Superace25
haha yeahhhh I was wondering about this a while ago... there are some interesting interviews with Imogen lying around the internets. I agree with Audacity, it's not actually a vocoder. (that would be too easy :-P ) It's some kind of harmonizer, probably something like this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VoiceLive/ I heard that she got the melody by playing large chords into an 8-voice unit. The random note drops are pretty important to the song, and supposedly makes it very difficult to perform live.

Members Superace25
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cpSv2mNhhc I like a lot of music, and I like a lot of Imogen's music, but for me, this will always be *the* track. I think it's a wonderfully artistic use of technology.

You know you've got a hit when SNL features it in one of their "digital shorts" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymJ50Ql7EF4&mode=related&search=
