Members seajay
Wah first. Wah's sometimes work better seeing a signal directly from the guitar. But try it both ways then tell us which you prefer.

Members Fenderman1991
I have wah before everything. Including comp.
Members mcsdude
I have always run my wah first in the chain. These days it's the only pedal I actually put in front of the amp.

Members Chippy
Wah before anything else, except sometimes I'll put a fuzz in front for a little different sound.
Members huskerjohn
I currently have wah and my silverkiss before the comp. I've always put wah first simply because it sounds best there. The silverkiss is very dynamic and works best for me in front of comp so it can respond to changes in attack and guitar volume.
Members hooya
If you put the comp after wah it can level out the dynamics that sometimes pop out too loud at some frequencies. In this case you use it to make sure the wah sounds even dynamically and just changes the color, not the dynamic of the instrument.

But My wah is first , should i put comp b4 or after wah and why? I use a Comp 1st, and a filter like a wah last, because the wah then has a more harmonically rich signal to filter. Members lenster
Thanx for your thoughts guys. Just changed my board. Guitars> Daimond comp > Tremonti wah > EVH Phase 90 > FD2 > TU2 > amp. Visual Sound H2O > MXR 108 EQ > LOOP. Don't here much change from comp or wah being 1st but i like what i'm hearing. Sounds fuller amd the wah definately has more happening Volume wise ( had to turn down the boost level ). But my biggest surprise was taking the phase out of the loop and in front of the amp . Sounds Faarking awesome. Its good to experiment hey.

I've routed my effects many different ways, including the way you describe-- I guess that's the difference between us... I've done things your way and prefer doing things MY way. YMMV, if you ever get around to doing so, rather than sitting online and :poke:. No need to :poke: I am not competing with your rig to get the results I want. :poke:

Members goodhonk
this is probably against regulation, but i put my small stone first. small stone>wah>NPN fuzz>Rat clone>OD>compression>VP>delay. i've tried every way imaginable, and this sounds the best for me. Members dangerous dan
Wah -> Comp. I like teh way my T-Rex Compnova smooths out any harshness in my wah playing, gives it a funky feel.
Members Fender&EHX4ever
filters first, bro! As a general rule, yes, I put filters at the front of my chain. There are always exceptions to the rule, but filters tend to have huge volume jumps or harsh frequencies, so I let the compression tame it a bit.
