Members fist
The Dunlop Hendrix ones are pretty pricey, which seems a little odd since they're supposed to be simple circuits. Is someone making a cheaper alternative?
Members NITEFLY182
In the grand scheme of fuzz face clones the Dunlop isn't that bad. You could get a BYOC or GGG kit for less. A monsterpiece might be less expensive too but $149 for a superb replica pedal is not bad at all.
Members fuzzface71
If you go cheap. You would just end up trying and buying everything that's available. Trust me. They ALL sound basically the same, but with different character on each.

Members dangerous dan
There is the blue MXR Classic Fuzz (Dunlop own MXR) which, from what I've read on the web, is the same circuit as the Dunlop Hendrix fuzz in a regular box, still going to set you back close to

Members SurveyofSociety
Keep and eye out for a Boss FZ 2 Hyper FuzzIt's got 2 seperate Fuzzes on it and has a gain modehttp://bossarea.com/loadpage.asp?file=boxes/fz2.xml FZ-2 HYPER Fuzz The FZ-2 is a distortion pedal with three modes: Fuzz 1, Fuzz 2 and Gain Boost. Fuzz 1 is used for a "booming" sound, Fuzz 2 for treble sound and Gain boost when the FZ-2 is used together with amp distortion. The FZ-2 attempts to create a fuzz sound reminiscent of the 60's and 70's but it also has the possibility to create a sound that is more in the grunge direction. The FZ-2 can also be used purely as a gain booster with no added distortion. About 35 000 FZ-2 pedals was produced. There are no known production changes. Specifications Controls: Level, Tone, Gain, 3-Way Mode Switch Connectors: Input, Output, AC Adaptor Current Draw: 16 mA (DC 9V) Recommended AC Adaptor: PSA Series Labels Silver - Made In Taiwan The FZ-2 was sold from April 1993 to June 1997. Members ampman1989
Ah yeah, I saw the cornell 1st fuzz and if I decide to spend that much I'd go for that before the dunlop fuzz face. They look really sweet, but unfortunately, still
