I just switched from a midi based (Axess GRX4, Ground Control/GCX type of) loop switcher to a Loop Master (which I like a lot) with two buttons. I've been kicking around the idea of using stereo patch cables for in/out on a loop and having you configure the order based on dip-switches, but I don't know that I want to invest all that time into it. Yeah, I got the idea from seeing that, but I'd like to define the order too.
