Members J3RK
I have no Moog and I must scream! If you're not an orphan, and nobody's XT is on, then you should still be able to accomplish this without a Moog (you'd still need a mouth though.) Members mildbill
I'm almost positive that if you add extra voices, you get better choir sounds. But how do you tell if the voices are male or female?
Members ElectricPuppy
My understanding is that the orphan voice stealing algorithm is configurable between male and female orphans. If you turn it on, the display will tell you which kind, or at least this is what I've been told. Can anyone confirm this?

Just imagine what happens when an Oberheim voice board goes out, or when the Q+'s analog filters are on or off.

Members grumphh
I'm sorry to be late to this thread - but i have just accquired a Microwave XT.Where again was it that i could see how many voices it had?
Members idiotboy
The XT will not display the number of voices under any circumstances. I think. Can anyone confirm?
Members MarkShovel2
I think the voice count is listed during the boot sequence. I've got a 10 voice unit and think that ten voices are suprisingly sufficient considering the harmonic complexity of the Microwave XT. Last night, I used my midi bass pedals connected to the Microwave XT midi input and played guitar. Quite an awesome machine! Mark
Members grumphh
I think the voice count is listed during the boot sequence. I should try watching it when i turn it on? ...But i would feel like a voyeur... ...Are you sure?Who can confirm this?
Members ElectricPuppy
I can neither confirm nor deny that the XT has any voices whatsoever. I would have to be looking at the display to know, and I'm not home to see it. If someone turns on an XT and no one is there to see it, does it have any voices? Members mildbill
Ok, so why do some MicrowaveXT rack units have a light blue or gray oval around the LCD and some have white ovals? Pretty sure light blue and gray ovals are male voices, and pink or white ovals are female voices. Don't know if any of them are orphans though.
