Members surfcat
I got an si fuzz (used) and it sometimes makes a frying bacon crackling background noise that doesn't go away with the guitar volume turned down. It also picks up foreign radio stations, but I gather that's normal. I don't know if it has a bad component or is this normal (the frying bacon sound)? It will do it for a while, then it will stop for a while.
Members fuzzer
i just moved into a new flat and all my si fuzzes are much noisiernot always, but usually i think it has something to do with the floor heating or somethingor maybe it's aliens (again)needless to say i'm considering moving

Members big_cat
It would be interesting if the problem turned out to be that there was a radio station broadcasting the sound of bacon frying.

Members jhamnett
Try putting in a fresh battery or check the transistor bias. Sounds like the fuzz isn't getting enough voltage.
Members surfcat
Try putting in a fresh battery or check the transistor bias. Sounds like the fuzz isn't getting enough voltage. Battery is fine-no idea how to check bias, but it's intermittent so it would do it all the time if that were set wrong wouldn't it? I've unplugged everything on that floor to check for interference-any other suggestions? It starts suddenly and goes for a while then stops for a while.
