Members QuickDilation
Boss DS-1 or an EHX Big Muff... after 10 years of playing I still have my DS-1 and break it out every now and then, its a classic distortion pedal... Simple, almost cheesy, and cheap... Love the thing, will never get rid of it...
Members nankuamedha
DS-1 was my first pedal back when I was 12-ish and super into Nirvana. I still have it. It was a good first distortion pedal, expecially for the kamikaze noise guitarist that was brewing deep inside my self waiting to burst free. Members EL KABONG
back in the nirvana era I was using whatever vai and satriani were using which was a DS 1, i also had a rat2 because thats what Beck was using... But to be honest the coolest fuzz sound I have ever heard to date was acheived by plugging straight into and tweaking my boogie quad preamp which was also used by Kurt Cobain in the form of the boogie studio preamp. I also played through a crate 112 as one of my first amps. At that age its really hard to justify that amount of money to purchase a real tube amp the prices are getting better these days like the VHT classic six at 200.00. imo the pedals are gonna sound harsh thru a ss amp and I think i know he wont really be satisfied until he's playing through a real tube amp.
