Members janimarj
Don't know if it's come up earlier, but Keeley Fuzz Head is really good if you want something that's between OD/Fuzz. Although it's lacking on the crazy sector, it's a solid fuzz that also works with chords.
Members ben_allison
Here's a clip I made of a synth. I want a fuzz that will make my guitar sound like this: http://www.roestudios.com/dump/doom_synth.wav

Members plurabelle
I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned the swollen pickle. Ben, have you tried the big muff pi tone wicker? Its a traditional muff, but with a couple of common muff mods built in. I play a tele into a twin, and this muff sounds absolutely great. Like you, I can't stand dirt pedals that won't let all notes in a chord ring out loud and clear. This muff does it. I would describe my sound with the muff as clear, loud, huge fuzz/distortion, and can still hear every note.
Members plurabelle
Also, if you're into diy kits, the way huge red llama clone might be a good choice. There's also kits available to make your own tone wicker muff, if you like it.

Members ben_allison
On going Trifecta propaganda. I love Barber. I have and LTD Silver and Small Fry on my board! I think, since I can get Tonebender shtuff, but also does the Muff stuff, this really might be worth picking up.

Members tonaldeath
If you don't want to be relegated to muff territory but the Fuzz Factory is a bit to wild for your taste, the zvex Mastotron is a really cool fuzz with a different flavor from the FF.
