Happy NGD! yeah, it is solid for sure, the more I look at the body, the more I am convinced that it is a one piece. It is lighter than the Firebird that I have been playing for sure. I have noticed that how the guitar hangs on you, how it is balanced has a great deal to do with perceived weight. The Firebird is just an awkward design, and this causes it to feel heavier than it is. This guitar hangs over my shoulder in a comfortable way, one of the factors that I was concerned with when I was shopping around and playing a bunch of guitars. I brought my strap and slung it kinda low, like I usually play. The Hamer isn't really that light, I'd say 7-1/2-8 lbs, but it hangs over my shoulder in a comfortable way.......kinda like my cock.
